regularly

  • Check Special:RecentChanges for spam, and:
    • block anonymous edits from IPs that spam
    • revert spam on pages with content
    • delete pages that are nothing but spam (in content and history)

mediawiki software updates

  • OpenID plugin.
    • Some thoughts: The OpenID plugin used by OpenID themselves at http://wiki2008.openid.net/ appears to work quite well. I'd suggest we look into and install the specific plugin they've got installed. Tantek 18:39, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
  • CAPTCHA
    • CAPTCHA maybe for account creation but please not for edits - it's a terrible participation disincentive. Either way it's not urgent IMHO. Tantek 18:39, 25 November 2009 (UTC)

community participation encouragement

  • draft up a simple get-started page encouraging people to:
    • create a username for edits
    • create a User: page with an hCard and encourage PD contributions as well (see User:Tantek for an example).
    • help add relevant content to the wiki
    • encourage OWF workflow using the wiki
